General FAQs
ON THE NIGHT
What do I do on the night?
There's no specific plan to follow, the main challenge is setting up your bed space and sleeping overnight. You can of course choose to do some activities to start your night off before you bed down for the night - the choice is yours! Why not take time to have a look at Centrepoint's You Tube channel to find out more about our work?
How do I keep in touch with my team mates if we are all taking part in separate locations?
If you’re taking part in a team, you can also use a whole host of Apps to stay in touch throughout the night (Zoom, Teams, Skype, WhatsApp and many more), use whatever works best for you!
How do I stay safe?
We only recommend sleeping at your own home or garden or that of a friend/family, your work place or other venue you have permission and arrangements with (such as your school or local community hall). You should NOT be sleeping outside in a public place. This event is not meant to replicate rough sleeping.
FUNDRAISING
Can I fundraise as a part of a team?
Yes!
To create a team: After you have registered, you'll be given the option to create a team. Simply click the 'create a team' button. You will then be able to edit the team name, fundraising target and add your story
To join a team: After you've registered, you'll be presented with the option to join a team. Simply click the 'join a team' button and search for the team name you want to join.
I have been given a cash donation, what do I do?
Add to your JustGiving page as an offline donation
All the money raised on your online fundraising page will be sent directly to Centrepoint, there's no need to do anything else with that.
If you receive cash donations you can add these as 'offline donations' to your JustGiving page, all you need to do then is send us the cheque or pay the cash into our account as below.
You can also make a donation of the cash directly on to your own JustGiving page.
Head to the bank/online banking
You can pay cash directly into our bank account or you can make a bank transfer from your account.
Just get in touch for our bank details, email us at sleepout@centrepoint.org or call us on 020 7423 6800 and make sure to let us know to look out for your donation.
If you have giving vouchers such as a Charities Aid Foundation voucher (CAF), please post them directly to us as the bank will not be able to process them.

Cheques made payable to Centrepoint can be sent to: Events Fundraising Team, Centrepoint, 25 Camperdown Street, London, E1 8DZ.
Be sure to complete and include any sponsorship forms and your details so we can identify who the money is from.
My company offers matched-funding. Can I use this scheme to increase my fundraising?
Absolutely! If your company offers match funding, inform them of your fundraising. We’d still love for you to aim for your minimum fundraising target of £100 and with your companies support, you will be able to double your impact! Contact sleepout@centrepoint.org for help with matched funding.
How will my sponsors know that I complete my challenge?
We’re asking all of our participants to keep their sponsors in the loop in the lead up to their Sleep Out and afterwards. Why not share a photo of your bed space once you have set it up and a morning after selfie, letting them know how you find it.
When you post, make sure you tag us on Instagram @CentrepointUK – we’d love to see how you’re getting on!
What if I don’t meet my fundraising target?
We’re asking everyone taking part to try to raise a minimum of £100. The money you raise helps us deliver the vital services we provide and we ask every participant to commit to making a difference to the lives of homeless young people.
If you're worried you won’t reach your fundraising target, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. We're on hand to help you out with tips and ideas that will help you reach your target.
If you don’t make the milestone though, you won’t be made to make up the difference. All we ask is you try your best!
MY SLEEP OUT
When do I Sleep Out?
You can choose ONE night between 18th and 21st November to hold your Sleep Out.
Can we Sleep Out in a group?
Yes you can. Spread the word to family, friends and co-workers to join you. You can take part in separate locations or together - such as your work place or school.
Is there an age limit for Sleep Out?
Sleep Out is for everyone! There is no minimum/maximum age to take part and Sleep Out is a fun and meaningful activity for all ages.
If I can’t make the dates you suggest, can I do it another time?
