General FAQs
ON THE NIGHT
What do I do on the night?
You'll be guided to a space to set up your bed for the night. Afterwards there'll be a selection of Centrepoint activities and talks to get involved in to help you understand more about some of the challenges facing young people, and how Centrepoint is supporting them.
What about food and drink?
There will be drinks to purchase on the night, and you will also get a hearty dinner free of charge. Please do not bring your own food and drink as they will not be permitted into the venue. Please inform us of any dietary requirements you may have.
What are the timings?
Arrival will be from 6.45pm. Please arrive during your team's allocated start time which your team leader will receive and head to the registration area. We won't be allowing re-entry on the night so please bring everything you need with you. Lights out will be from 11pm and people tend to leave in the morning from 5-7am when public transport restarts in the morning.
What should I bring with me?
The venue will be cold and drafty, and we'll be spending a lot of the evening completely outdoors. Bring layers and waterproofs to keep warm throughout and keep an eye on the weather forecast the week before. For the overnight we'd recommend bringing a sleeping bag, hat, gloves, thick socks, plus anything that might make your evening more comfortable such as a pillow. Feel free to bring a change of clothes for sleeping but make sure you're keeping warm! There won't be anywhere secure to store your valuables on site so please leave at home or keep on your person, we will not be liable for any lost or stolen items.
Can I sleep out with my colleagues?
Yes you can. We'll set up the sleeping area so you will be with your colleagues. Remember to sign up within your team, and keep your team leader informed so we can set you up with the right team.
How do I get to the venue?
Sleep Out will be held at The Oval cricket ground in London. It is about a 10 minute walk from Vauxhall and 5 minute walk from Oval tube stations. Please head towards the John Edrich Gate which is closest to Oval station, where we will register you. Please note it is in a separate space and entrance to the 2022 event.

Add to your JustGiving page as an offline donation
All the money raised on your online fundraising page will be sent directly to Centrepoint, there's no need to do anything else with that.
If you receive cash donations you can add these as 'offline donations' to your JustGiving page, all you need to do then is send us the cheque or pay the cash into our account as below.
You can also make a donation of the cash directly on to your own JustGiving page.

Cheques made payable to Centrepoint can be sent to: Events Fundraising Team, Centrepoint, 25 Camperdown Street, London, E1 8DZ.
Be sure to complete and include any sponsorship forms and your details so we can identify who the money is from.
My company offers matched-funding. Can I use this scheme to increase my fundraising?
Absolutely! If your company offers match funding, inform them of your fundraising. We’d still love for you to aim for your minimum fundraising target of £450 and with your companies support, you will be able to double your impact! Contact sleepout@centrepoint.org for help with matched funding.
How will my sponsors know that I completed my challenge?
We’re asking all of our participants to keep their sponsors in the loop in the lead up to their Sleep Out and afterwards. Why not share a photo of your bed space once you have set it up and a morning after selfie, letting them know how you find it.
When you post, make sure you tag us on Instagram @CentrepointUK – we’d love to see how you’re getting on!
Where will my fundraising go?
Centrepoint provide far more than just a place to stay. We provide expert support and guidance to help young people move onto a life of independence.
Your fundraising could be going towards any of our projects: from our helpline service, which is there at crisis point, to one of our housing services across the country, all the way to supporting our policy and campaigning work which aims to apply pressure to help end youth homelessness for good.
